We have taken the decision to host the first-ever US Honors online, where we will showcase our finalists' achievements to the industry online, rather than host the event in New York.


Our panel of judges with unparalleled experience in the industry have judged, and on 19 November 2020, we will recognise those that have excelled in each of the carefully chosen categories.

Financial Leader of the Year

The tribunal will choose a successful CFO who has impressed with their skilful management of their firm’s financial affairs in the preceding 3 years to October 1 2019.


The team will look at in detail the strategies or projects driven by the executive that have made a significant and measurable improvement to the firm’s financial performance.


Examples of this might arise in the fields of capital management and efficiency, M&A activity, asset and liability management, solvency, implementation of new systems and controls, or indeed any other area that comes under the day to day responsibility of a CFO.

Distribution Leader of the Year

Candidates will be an individual working at a US P&C (re)insurance company or intermediary as well as those working in the regulation and governance of the same.


Through their hard work and strength of their personality, the winner will have made an outstanding contribution to the development of this sector over the last year.

Risk Leader of the Year

The winner will be an individual working on the risk-bearing side of the US P&C (re)insurance market. This can include carriers and marketplaces, exchanges, risk-bearing venture capital or private equity insurance funds, as well as those working in the regulation and governance of the same.


Through their strong leadership, this person will have made an outstanding contribution to the industry over the last year.

The Lifetime Leadership Honor

The editorial tribunal will vote this honor to a person who they believe has distinguished themselves whilst making the highest contribution to the industry over the course of their working life.


Candidates will be an individual working in, regulating, lobbying for, or providing services to the US P&C markets through a career that will have spanned at least 20 years.

Ant Gould is an award-winning journalist and editor who is now working as a freelance media communications consultant and writer specialising in insurance. Ant was previously director of faculties at the Chartered Insurance Institute where he led the market and membership engagement strategy across the key areas of claims, underwriting, insurance broking and life & pensions. Prior to that he was group editor in chief at Incisive Media where he spear-headed the content strategy for the insurance division brands across print, digital and events including Post Magazine, Insurance Age, The Actuary, Professional Broking, Reinsurance, Cover and Employee Rewards & Benefits. Previous roles include Editor of Post Magazine, news editor of The Engineer, deputy editor of AutoTrade and general news reporting.
